Dig into the fascinating history of Christianity in ancient Rome with this private 7-hour guided tour of the Eternal City. Visit the places where everything started. Learn what St. Peter and St. Paul did when they were in Rome, where Christians were buried when the religion was prohibited, and how Christianity eventually triumphed.

Get picked up at your Rome hotel or accommodation by your driver at 8:30am to begin your day.

Start with an intense introduction to the life of St. Peter and St. Paul from a very exclusive spot when Rome is still sleeping. Then stop at the Mamertine Prison, where the two Saints were kept in chains under Emperor Nero. You can also visit it from the inside.

Move to the Aventine Hill, the place where the early Christians started to profess their religion. Visit what once were the first two Domus Iglesias, today known as the Church of Saint Sabina and Saint Prisca, under which the first Christians met in secret.

Move to the Appian Way and explore the Church of Quo Vadis, where you will find amazing evidence of the life of the two Saints. Visit the Catacombs where the early Christians were buried, even if persecuted by the Romans.

Take a break for lunch (own expense) before heading to the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls. Explore the Basilica built on top of the tomb of St Paul. Next, visit the Cathedral of Rome, where there is evidence of the power of the Church after Constantine stopped the persecutions of the Christians: Saint John in Latheran.

Pedal your way through northern Lazio and Umbria on a day trip from Rome. After cycling from the meeting point to the train station, load the bicycle onto the train yourself as a real pro and make yourself ready for a train ride out of the city. Swap to an electric bike or mountain bike and follow an uphill route through the Tiber Valley, the Oasis of Alviano nature reserve and the enchanting hill town of Civita di Bagnoregio. Take the cable train to Orvieto, enjoy free time to explore, and then finish on a high note — wine and dinner at a traditional wine cellar. A lunch box and return train to Rome are also included.

Leave Rome by train and relax during the roughly 1-hour journey north of the Lazio region, from where your bike experience begins. Choose from an electric bike or a mountain bike, follow your guide through the scenic Tiber Valley area, and head inside a nature reserve known as the Oasis of Alviano. The reserve straddles the regions of Lazio and Umbria, and is home to several species of rare birds and flowers. Enjoy several stops along the way to admire the views, rest or perhaps enjoy your lunch; a package of sandwiches, fruit, juice and water is included.
Your route through the nature reserve and surrounding Bagnoregio area is uphill and includes a few tough, but short, stretches. The effort is worth your while though, as the delightful hill town of Civita di Bagnoregio beckons at the top. Beautiful in every respect, the historical dwelling dates back to medieval times when it was built on a rock plateau, cut off from the outside world by a narrow bridge.
Pedal around Civita di Bagnoregio, and then continue toward Orvieto where more history and impressive sights await. Perched atop a rocky hill, the city is best accessed by cable train. So do just that, and save your legs from a gruelling climb as you relax on the short ride.
At the top, make the most of some free time to explore. The tiny city is home to the Gothic stunner of Cattedrale di Orvieto as well as a warren of charming cobblestone lanes and medieval piazzas.
Meet back up with your guide in the late afternoon, and head to one of the city’s traditional wine cellars for dinner. After a platter of salami and cheese, salad, pasta and, of course, some wine, cycle to Orvieto station. Finally, board the return train and arrive back in Rome after just over an hour.

Segway Rome Tours is the new, fun and environmentally friendly way to tour Rome. You will explore St. Peters, the Coliseum and Castel Sant'Angelo without breaking a sweat riding the segway! On the segway you will get to explore the century-old monuments that Rome presents to its tourists.

This small-group segway tour is limited to 8 people, ensuring personalized attention from your guide.

See the most significant attractions of the Eternal City from the comfort of a self-balancing Segway on this eco-friendly sightseeing tour of Rome, with 3 options depending on what you want to see and how long you’d prefer to tour.

Historic Tour: (3 Hours)
Depart from the pedestrian zone of Castel Sant’Angelo after a short training session, and head to St.Peters Basilica, Rome’s iconic symbol of Christianity. Glide around the oldest quarters of Rome to Piazza Navona, built over the site of the Stadium of Domitian. Admire the columns of the imperial Pantheon, a former Greek temple built by Hadrian in 126 AD. Ride along the Roman Forum to the Colosseum, perhaps Rome’s most iconic building. Take a tour of Piazza Venezia, dominated by the wedding-cake Monument to Vittorio Emanuele II. Join part of the “Lovely Tour” route, Segway-ing past the Trevi Fountain and onto the romantic Spanish Steps. Then, glide across the vast Piazza del Popolo to see some of its legendary Renaissance fountains.

Lovely Tour: (2 Hours)
Combine classic sites of the old town with the romance of the Villa Borghese, departing from the pedestrian zone of Castel Sant’Angelo. After a short training session, head to the Spanish Steps. Pass through the city center, tossing a coin in the Trevi Fountain as you go. Next, dodge the shoppers on Via del Corso, Rome’s biggest shopping street, to arrive at Piazza del Popolo, where you will climb to the Terrace of Pincio for breathtaking views inside the gardens of the Villa Borghese.

Classic Tour: (2 Hours)
The Classic Tour is a shorter version of the “Historic Tour” and visits many of the same sites, but in only 2 hours. The route starts at the pedestrian zone of Castel Sant’Angelo, where you will be taught how to ride your Segway. Go to Piazza Navona to see stunning Renaissance architecture and the flamboyant fountains of Bernini. Admire the Imperial Pantheon, after a ride along the Roman Forum. And imagine the roar of the crowds at the mighty Colosseum. Pass through Piazza Venezia to reach the Spanish Steps, via the Trevi Fountain. Throw in a coin to ensure you one day return to Rome. And pop by Piazza del Popolo to see Romans and tourists gathered around the fountains and obelisk.

Night Tour: (3 Hours)

I often think night time is more lively and colourful than daytime.
The appointment is at our meeting point in the pedestrian area of Castel Sant'Angelo. We will teach you how to drive a Segway through the beautiful Hadrian Mole Gardens. After that we'll be ready to head to Piazza Navona and then Campo de' Fiori, crowded and bustling market in the day time and romans' gathering point at night time. We will admire the beauty of Ponte Sisto on the Tiber, then crossing Piazza Venezia we'll climb the Campidoglio to enjoy the breathtaking view of the monument which best represents Rome: the Coliseum. Then riding along the Fori Imperiali we'll get to the world's most famous fountain, Trevi fountain. From there we'll reach the Spanish Steps to then loop back to our starting point, Castel Sant'Angelo.
